Real Soccer game

We went to a Real soccer game for the first time this week. Needles to say we will most likely become season ticket holders because we had so much fun. The stadium was a great size for everyone to feel like they were part of the game. Ashley's soccer team got to go out on the soccer field which was fun for her =-)

Higbee Day @ The Fire Station

I have a great friend that works at the Roy fire station and gave our family a special treatment. We toured the facility in and out. He took us on a ride around the neighborhoods in the Fire truck and pulled over to let the kids switch places so they all had a chance to ride up front. We also sat in the back of the ambulance as he told of some experiences of people being in there. He hooked Kelsie up and ran an EKG on her =-)Tons of fun in the water as well!

Katie Baptism

Katie's Baptism went very well. Katie was so very excited and proud of herself as we were of her. The weather was perfect for our get together at our home afterwards and we all had a great time visiting and eating=-) Thank you to all of you for your love, support and friendships. Having this adds so much to making a special day even better =-)

New York!

Wes and I had way to much fun in New York a couple of weeks ago. That city is very busy with lots to do and we enjoyed every minute of it with very little sleep =-) We saw a Broadway shows, went to statue of Liberty, New York Yankee vs. Boston game, wax museum, mountain bikes around Central Park (8.5 miles) just to name a few things =-) We are going back in October!!

Soccer Season

All of the kids played Soccer this season and it was very busy for Wes and I but we loved it! The league has asked Ashley and Kelsie to join the competition teams.

Spring Break in St. George

We went on our traditional vacation to St. George for Spring Break this year to relax in the sun. We went to Las Vegas one of the day to play around. We ate at the Rain Forest Cafe because the kids love the atmosphere even though the food is not the best =-) Sometimes it's all about the experience! We went to the top of the Stratosphere which was awesome! My kids love a rush and a thrill so we rode the ride at the very top which was really neat! The only thing that I can think of that was as scary was when I bungee jumped off a bridge from my ankles when I was in college. We spent a quick day in Zions as well and took the kids on a hike. Very fun trip! =-)

Wes trip to Oregon

Watch as Luke so graciously hits the ball then it comes up, hits him in the side and he looks down at the ball thinking "what just happened"? He then proceeds to pick it up like no big deal and tee it up again. If you listen close you can here Luke tell me "Mom, your not supposed to talk" because he hears me whispering to someone. He really is hitting the ball pretty good and is learning how to behave, yell at the ball and love the game like the rest of the fam!!! =-)

We had a great time last week at Boondocks with friends! It was definitely fripply outside but it didn't stop us from racing each other on the Go-carts. We enjoyed great pizza and decorated valentines cookies. Good times...good times! =-)

We are ready for 2010!!!!!!We had a great time New Years Eve. We did some fireworks around 7:30 with the kids and had a little celebration wit them then my sweet mom had them over for a slumber party!! Wes and I had a few friends over to bring in the New Year with us! We just laughed, ate food, played the Wii then had way to much fun with fireworks at midnight. We are lucky someone didn't end up in the emergency room with sever burns from Roman Candles! :-)We then continued to visit until about 2:30 in the morning! Cheers to all of you and may this year be whatever you choose to make it!!! :-)

The kids love when we have enough snow on the streets for us to pull them on sleds or tubs behind the four wheelers. Today was the day!! We have to hurry and do it before the plows come clean the roads or throw sand down and ruin the fun!! :-) I pulled them all around the neighborhood for an hour today and I couldn't go fast enough for them. I was going as fast as I could and still try to see with the snow blowing in my face while avoiding parked cars, garbage cans or or on coming cars that I might hit or pull my kids into. These kids love speed and the rush of doing something fun and exciting.
After we did that for an hour we then got out tubes and went tubing for a couple of hours. Needless to say they are tired and going to sleep well tonight :=) Great day....Great day!!!!-)

Disneyland and Lego land vacation!!

We had a wonderful trip to Disneyland and Lego land last week! We went with our friends Dren and Ry and their two boys. We had never been to lego land before and thought it was really neat. It isn't the type of place we would most likely not go to more than once like Disneyland but it was tons of fun! The weather was in the great and we did get to spend some time letting the kids run and play on the beach and eat at some excellent restaurants right on the beaches as well.

Ashley turned 9 years old on November 27Th. Her birthday was the day after Thanksgiving and a bunch of her friends were going to be out of town that day so we had the party a few days before. She ended up with 14 kids at our house for her party and we had a blast! On the day of her birthday she wanted to go ice skating as we have done for her past three birthdays. She loves it and it has become a fun tradition. Ashley is the sweetest little girl and has a very tender soft heart. She is a joy in our house!!

Fall Break in St. George

Hike to the "Y"

Wes and I decided to take the kids to hike up to the Y on Thursday and it was a blast!! The kids thought they were going to die because it is a pretty steep hike up there and it was very hot. Ashley looked up at me at one time and said "Mom, this is my last day of life, it really is" I laughed hard but at the same time it gave me the creeps hearing her say that. Wes really had his work cut out for him because he was backing Luke on his back 90% of the time all the way up and down. We have this back pack that we call the "caboose" and it is meant to put kids in. Maybe us going up there will bring the cougars good luck this year!!

4th of July fun!!!

We have a tradition of going to the hot air balloon launch in Provo every year then we walk over and find us a good spot to watch the parade. We love to do this and it is just like golf...... one thing worth getting up early for :-)

After this fun we head home and be lazy for a little while and get kids down for a nap then we have a BBQ for dinner with Dren, Ry and Christy then we all go to Stadium of Fire. We have been doing this for 10 years and look forward to it every year. I love July!! I love the heat and the activities but most of all I love the sunrises, sunsets and warm late evenings :-)

Lagoon

We went to Lagoon last week and had a blast!! My favorite ride there is the big swing that pulls you up and back so you are hanging face first over the parking lot then to top off the rush you are already experiencing one of you have to pull the cord to drop you!!! I also really like Wicked and Colossus.

The kids will ride everything!! The girls just laugh and scream loud on everything they go on.

Air show!

We went with our friends christy, Dren, Ry and their kids to the Hill Air Force Base Air show. This is Wes's "Happy Place"! Wes absolutely loves planes of all kinds but especiall military and war planes. We try to go to this show every time they have it.

Katie 7th birthday!

Katie turned 7 years old on May 23rd. Katie had friends over and we decorated bags for all her friends to take home. Katie loves animals and insects of all kinds. She loves to decorate and make things as well. Katie really wanted a bike for her birthday. She was glowing when she saw it!!

Kelsie turned the big 10 on May 17th. It is hard to believe we have a 10 year old now but time flies when you are having fun :-) She loves all sports so it wasa sports theme party. Kelsie also loves friends so we let her invite all the friends she wanted to our house and they played hard!

St. George "Spring Break"

We enjoyed a great Spring Break last week. We went to St. George with our friends Dren and Ry and their kids. We stayed a few nights in an Ivory Home that was very large and fully furnished. Needless to say we had a blast!!
One of the days that the weather was cooler we decided to go to Las Vegas. We did some shopping then went to lunch at the Rainforest Cafe which was a lot of fun. We then decided to do some more shopping. We did go to the new Disney outlet which was neat then went to watch the water show at the Belligio. Every time I see that it makes me so relaxed because it is just soothing and amazing to watch. The kids all loved it as well.
Friday Adam and Anto came to meet up with me and enjoy the weekend in the sun. We watched their daughter Naihya in a dance competition which we followed with a traditional trip to the "Blue Bunny " ice cream parlor.
We are going back the end of June to stay in that house again and can't wait!!!

Luke's first bike!

Luke is very proud of his bike. Last year we mentioned getting him a bike and he didn't want one because he wanted a scooter so we got him a one of those. We have been talking to him about a bike this year and he didn't want a bike he kept saying, " I want a real skate board". Wes took him out yesterday looking and he saw the Lightning McQueen bike and he wanted it! He loves Lightning McQueen!!

This is Kelsie out at the golf course. I coach AF Girls High School golf team and I try to switch off with my girls and take one of them out there to help me with my team so they can be part of it and enjoy the experience. I was working with 14 High School girls that were lined up on the range hitting balls and I would move from one girl to another helping the. Kelsie was doing the same as I was but started at the opposite end of the girls as I was but she was just telling them, "great shot, "good job" etc which is great. Next thing I know, I look down the row at her and she is literally giving a lesson showing a girl how it is done! I got the biggest kick out of that.

Celine Dion Concert

Wes and I went to see Celine in concert and had an amazing time! For those of you that know me well know that I have always been a big fan. We had second row seats and we could almost reach up and touch her if we wanted to that's how close we were.

Wes has always made fun of me for liking Celine but he has been converted! He was in complete amazement and believe it or not she is all he listens to since. He has signed up in her fan club and anything having to do with her. Tease him all you want (because you know he would do the same) but he will do nothing other than brag her up and admit it proudly!!

High School Musical 3 Party!

The DVD came out today so I went to the store first thing this morning to get it. I am a fan of the show and like all three but I have to say #2 is my favorite. #3 did not show enough sharpay and she is my favorite!! she makes me laugh hard.

My girls have been counting down the days for it to come out on DVD. We had a High School Musical 3 party here and let the kids invite a few friends to watch the movie and eat pizza. Here are a few pictures. We decorated with red and white balloons to match the "East High" school colors and my kids wore red and white except Kelsie. She would not wear red and white because she thinks that is Utah Utes colors and she is a major BYU cougar fan! I had to beg her to wear it Valentines day.

Luke's new thing is grabbing a cell phone and talking on it because the girls play like they are talking to friends on their pretend cell phones all the time.

Wes made our usual trip across the border first thing New Years Eve morning to load up on all of our favorite fireworks. The kids had a great time watching the fireworks We did and also holding the Roman Candle firework and shooting them at each other.

We have a great sledding hill close to our house so we have been going over there enjoying all the snow! I would much rather it be warm and sunny but if the cold and snow is here you just as well have fun!

Polar Express

We went to Heber last night to ride "The Polar Express train". It is a tradition in our family to go every year. They have elves on the train, pass out cookies and hot chocolate while someone reads the book Polar Express. There is lots of singing Christmas songs while the train is heading to the North Pole where Santa gets on the train and passes out a bell to all of the kids on the train. We had a lot of laughs and fun.

BYU game

Well, It was Katie's turn to go to the BYU game today and we had a great time! Popcorn, cotton candy, Nachos, hot dogs, and bubble gum. The weather, company and game was perfect so what more could you ask for?... (A Dr. Pepper that is not unleaded :-})

Going to the BYU Football games is a blast but let's face it, there is only one game that matters every year and that is the COUGARS VS. UTES game!!! Two weeks and counting!! This game my friends is like the Superbowl and then some around this house. Unfortunately the game is in Ute country this year so we chose to just have a party here to watch it instead of going there.

St. George UEA break

The kids were off school for UEA break Thursday the 16th - 20th this past weekend so we took off to St. George to have some fun in the sun for a few days. The kids start asking if the pool is open from the moment they wake up. Our kids love being at the pool and would stay there from sun up to sun down so that is basically what we did the first couple of days.

Wes took us to the best park I have ever been to that is in the Ivory Homes subdivision there. You have to take your kids there if you are ever in St. George because they will be entertained for a long time and have a blast!!

We traditionally always have to go to the Blue Bunny ice cream parlor a couple of times while we are there. I personally am not the biggest ice cream fan but my kids are, especially the biggest kid WES!! I would much rather have a hot brownie, piece of cake or a good cookie :-)

Kids went back to school yesterday and are already asking "do we have to go to school tomorrow?"

We are almost ready for Halloween. Ashley is Super Woman , Luke is a skeleton, Katie is Hannah Montana and Kelsie has decided to be Sharpay from High School Musical. Yes... we are going to see High School Musical this Friday when it comes out. I bought the tickets almost a month ago for the 11:30 movie and the kids are as excited to see that movie as they are on Christmas morning!! I love the show as well!!

Yellowstone Vacation!

We just got home from a much needed vacation. We usually don't take vacations in the summer when the kids are out of school because that is my busy time of the year so we always try to get in a couple of vacations before Christmas. We have been going to Yellowstone at least once a year since Kelsie was a baby. For some reason we have not been for the past two years but really wanted to make the time this Fall to make sure Luke got to experience the adventure and excitement.

We know right where to find the wildlife and just love to sit and watch them. Our favorite is the Elk in the Fall because they are in the rut and extremely active and intense. We love to listen to them bugle. We usually only see bears in the spring when we go in May but we got lucky this weekend and were very close to a grizzly bear that was by the road just North of Jackson Hole.

Today Wes turned 35! We have a tradition of going to IHOP for breakfast on the morning of who's birthday it is so we just got home from a yummy breakfast! This picture was taken in Dubrovnik Croatia when Wes and I went on a cruise this Summer.

BYU Football Game

Well, the season has finally started!!! We have a couple of season tickets to the games and we rotate which one of the girls go to the game with dad or mom. Kelsie started off the season at the game yesterday with dad. Kelsie is a huge BYU fan! All of the kids love the cougars because of course we have taught them well :-) but Kelsie is above and beyond. Red has always been my favorite color and when I wear a red shirt or something Kelsie looks at me with disgust and disappointment because the Utah Utes are red. They had a great time at the game. GO COUGARS!!!!

Camping

We went camping up American Fork Canyon this week. what a blast we had. The kids did some hiking around the area while Luke was in heaven with all of the sticks laying around to hit with that he could possibly want. We stayed up late enjoying plenty of smores around the fire and making Ashley even more scared than she already was of a bear coming to get her that night.

Trip to Colorado Springs

I enjoyed a trip to Colorado Springs this week to visit my sister Lori and my nephew Colton. Lori's husband David was out of town and my other nephew is serving a mission in Italy. Colton made the golf team his senior year so we spent a lot of time working on his game and of course we played many rounds of golf.
